Eugene’s Story:
My name is Eugene Sanders. I recently received a health prognosis that has changed my future forever and is the reason why I am on this journey and raising funds for Kidney Health NZ.
In 2009, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease an inherited disorder in which clusters of cysts develop primarily within your kidneys, causing your kidneys to enlarge and lose function over time. After a recent check-up, my diagnosis was that my kidney health is deteriorating and that I will be needing a kidney transplant in the near future. In September this year, my 15 year old son, Joshua, was also diagnosed with this hereditary disease. This has prompted me to complete a fundraiser and awareness journey in 2021, before it will be too difficult health wise.
I am about to embark on a 14 day / 1400km challenge on an off-road electric scooter, from Picton to Bluff. This will be a family effort with my brother, Charne Christensen and my wife Janine (who have both offered to be a living kidney donor when the time comes) plus my daughter Jordan and two sons Joshua and Kyle, providing road support on this trip.
I have set up this fundraising page and would love your support to help me create awareness of kidney disease and the need for testing, while raising funds for Kidney Health NZ to enable public awareness and prevention education to continue and grow.
I would really appreciate any support you can provide to help me achieve this goal and would love for you to be a part of this fundraiser journey with me.

Recycled Wrap - New product for 2020

CYCLED WRAP® is an eco-friendly product manufactured from special highly purified recycled raw materials producing a consistent silage film with no weak points. The film’s 7-layer coextrusion technology also allows for very narrow tolerances and excellent strength in wrapping, both round and square bales., it offers technical properties equivalent to premium silage films.

It was created to wrap bales aimed both for high milk-producing livestock and for sheep and horses, or even for bales of tough-stemmed alfalfa. The CYCLED WRAP® specs are much higher than those of a conventional stretch film. This is why bales wrapped in CYCLED WRAP® are more robust and safer to withstand long periods of storage and demanding weather conditions.

By using wrap that contains recycled components, contractors and farmers can enhance their environmental credentials and reduce their carbon footprint, contact your local Territory Manager to find out more about this great new product added to our range.

Donaghys Crop joins Plasback Product Stewardship scheme

Plasback Product Stewardship scheme to recover used farm plastics for recycling. Plasback came to New Zealand in 2006, and has gone from strength to strength. Operating their original bin and liner system, which when combined with on farm collection, has contributed to Plasback not only running a simple and effective system but has meant over 10,000 tonnes of waste collected since the scheme’s in 2006! As part of our continued commitment to Product Stewardship we now operate six purpose built balers designed to improve the onward transport logistics from our main centres to the recycling plants, and have introduced new products made from recycled plastics, Tuffboard, Tuffdeck, and Plaswood. We have a reliable network of Contractors who run the collections, and cover the whole of New Zealand.
Plasback was the first product stewardship scheme for agriculture to receive accreditation from the Ministry for the Environment in 2010.
